Tennessee Waste is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. It's mission statement is:
"The U.S. Green Building Council is the nation's foremost coalition of leaders from across the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work."
Within the USGBC there is a green building rating system named Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design or LEED®. It is a voluntary standard for producing high performance, sustainable buildings. There are several benefits to building green through LEED® such as improving air and water quality, reducing solid waste, conserving natural resources, increasing asset values and profits and improving employee productivity and satisfaction. All of these reasons contribute to an overall quality of life.
The LEED® program is new to Nashville and Tennessee Waste is proud to offer services and recycled materials that qualify for LEED points.
